Hire the right help the first time

Most of us put off hiring because we can’t picture how it would actually go. What would they even do all week, where do you find someone good, what do you ask them, and how do you pay them properly. This playbook walks the whole path, with the worksheets already made.

You’ll also get my newsletter, one gentle marketing idea each week. Unsubscribe anytime, no spam.

What’s inside

The whole hiring path, in order

Fifteen pages of worksheets and templates, from working out what to hand off to sitting down with your new VA in week one. Print it, or fill it in on any device.

Delegation brain dump

Four columns of real tasks, admin and inbox, content and marketing, tech and systems, client support, so you can circle what drains you instead of starting from a blank page.

Role clarity sheet

The three kinds of VA (admin, tech, content), what each one is perfect for, and the signs you need that one. Then you write down your top five tasks, your hours, and your budget.

Three job post templates

General, tech, and content VA posts written out in full, with tasks, ideal fit, hours, and pay ranges. Copy them exactly or change the wording to sound like you.

Interview questions and scorecard

Nine questions that surface how someone actually works, and a 1 to 5 scorecard for the same nine areas so you can compare candidates on paper instead of by gut feel.

Sample contractor agreement

A plain sample covering scope, pay, confidentiality, IP, and termination, so you know what a real agreement includes before you take it to your own attorney.

Onboarding and first 30 days

What to set up in the first 24 to 48 hours (access, tools, SOPs, communication), then a week by week ramp-up from easy wins to a 90-day plan you make together.

The contractor agreement is a sample for information only, not legal advice. Have your own attorney review anything before you sign it.

When you’d reach for this

You already know you need help. The question is what kind.

The Role Clarity Sheet inside sorts this out in about ten minutes. Here are the three kinds of VA it walks you through, and the sign that points to each one.

An admin VA

Inbox, client support, scheduling, organization

Your inbox is chaos and your brain feels cluttered.

A tech VA

Websites, funnels, integrations, automations

You avoid projects because the tech slows you down.

A content VA

Repurposing, formatting, uploading, scheduling

You create content but can’t keep up with publishing.

About working with me

The hard part isn’t finding someone. It’s knowing what to hand them.

Hiring goes wrong when the role was never really defined, so the work keeps bouncing back to you and it starts to feel easier to just do it yourself. Deciding the role, the questions, and the first month before you post anything is what keeps that from happening.

The onboarding checklist also walks through paying a contractor properly, including collecting a W-9 and setting up 1099s. I use Gusto for that part.
