Is StreamYard really free?
Yes, there’s a free plan and it’s genuinely usable. It gives you the essential studio features, up to six people on screen, and two hours a month of local recording. The trade-off is that a StreamYard logo appears on your streams and storage is limited. It’s a fair way to practice before you decide to pay for anything.
How much does StreamYard cost?

Do I need to download anything?
No. StreamYard runs in your browser, and so does the guest experience. Your guest clicks the link you send and joins from their browser or phone. This is the single biggest reason it’s easier on a 50-plus audience than the alternatives: there’s no install to talk anyone through.
Where can I stream to?
Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Twitch and more, and you can go to several of them at the same time. The Core plan covers three destinations at once and Advanced covers eight. You can also stream to a custom RTMP destination if your platform isn’t on the list.
What happens if my internet drops in the middle?
This is where local recording earns its keep. StreamYard records a separate audio and video file on each participant’s own device rather than relying on the live connection, so a weak signal doesn’t leave you with a blurry or choppy recording to edit afterwards.
Can I use it for podcasts and webinars, not just live video?
