It’s that time of year. The time we look back in reflection and plan for the future ahead. As we close out the year 2020 (couldn’t come sooner am I right?!) and get in gear for 2021, this is a great time for business owners to start making plans, especially when it comes to marketing. Yes, I said it, the M-word, but this word doesn’t have to be daunting and it doesn’t have to be scary. With the right tools and resources, you can plan like a pro!
Keep reading for 4 ways to organize your 2021marketing plan (and more info on the planner that will be your 2021 BFF).
1. Set your 2021 goals.
Starting with planning your business goals for the new year will set you up for success. Reflect back on your goals you set for the current year, crunch your numbers, and set new goals accordingly.
Reflect:
- What are you proud to have accomplished?
- Reflect on any challenges and struggles you overcame
- Recognize what you learned and insights you may have gained
Set Goals:
- How much do you want to earn in the coming year?
- What do you want your work day and work week to look like?
- Where can you create more time and leverage in your business?
Setting clear, concise, actionable, and achievable goals is something our 2021 Marketing Planner will help you to do! The goal of this planner is to help get you organized and stay on track throughout the year through effective marketing plans.
2. Plan your content.
Now that you have your goals and a marketing plan of action, it’s time to plan out your content. Figure out what you want your social media posts to look like, such as graphics or pictures, or a combination of both!
- Canva is my go-to recommendation for clients who need an easy way to create gorgeous graphics.
Also plan what you want to say to your audience through your blog and email marketing.

With the a marketing planner, like the 5-minute marketing planner I give you when you join our Monthly Marketing Planning Parties, you’ll be able to create an editorial calendar each month to plan what you’ll be publishing on your blog, email, and social media channels.
You’re welcome.
3. Plan your weeks.
Not only should you plan your monthly content, but plan what your weeks will look like. You can get your personal plans, business plans, habits, priorities, and so much more organized a week at a time.
- Map your business and personal goals
- What projects are you working on personally and in your business?
- Decide what will you be promoting
If you are the type of person who likes to break things into tinier chunks for accountability purposes, you will LOVE the weekly planning pages in this year’s planner.
4. Track your progress.
Setting goals is a great first step, but even more important, is tracking your progress. Without tracking, you have no idea what’s working and what isn’t. Not tracking leads to feeling stuck on a hamster wheel, never getting anywhere.
- Track your finances: How much revenue did you bring in? What were your expenses? What was your net profit or loss?
- Record your sales: How many new clients did you bring in? How many of each product did you sell?
- Measure your audience growth: How many new followers, subscribers, leads, etc. did you get this month? How does it compare to past months?
The 5-Minute Marketing Planner includes a monthly reflections section to evaluate how you did each month and track your metrics. There are also quarterly reflection sections and a yearly “Metrics at a glance” sheet at the back.
Hooray! You are now on your way to making this an amazing year.
I’m so proud and excited about this year’s marketing planner and monthly marketing planning parties. I guarantee, if you join us on our live workshops and use the planner, it will help you get organized and feel more in control in the coming year!
