Graphic design is my life. I live it, breathe it, and work in various fields that utilize some or all of the skills I have learned in college. Obtaining the necessary graphic design tools and resources I need to complete all of my projects is very important to not just myself, but my clients. I want to be ready to complete any project I can. With this handy list we’re going to run through the important graphic design tools one can utilize. Some of the items covered here are:

Apps and Tools

  • InDesign: Page layout software utilized for creating everything print; brochures, newspapers, magazines and even ezines.
  • Photoshop, GIMP, pixlr: Photo manipulation software, bitmap-based (great for JPG, PNG, and GIF files)
  • Illustrator, Inkscape: Vector-based software to create illustrations that can be blown up without losing quality, great for logos
  • Canva: Drag and drop format to create print and web design materials
