3 Simple Daily Marketing Activities To Attract More Leads and Clients to Your Business
By, Heather Stephens
In today’s post, I’m going to give you the three non-negotiable activities you can do every day in your business to keep your pipeline full of leads and clients.
Those of you who have been around here for a while know that my weight has been a struggle for most of my adult life.
I hired a personal trainer and joined Weight Watchers in 2014 and lost about 80 pounds before starting my business, but as I worked to launch Wise Owl Marketing, my healthy habits went to the wayside, and the pounds piled right back on.
I have tried “all the things” in an attempt to solve this problem: weight watchers, keto, intermittent fasting, counting calories, juice cleanse, bone-broth fast, vegetarian, whole foods, swimming, HIIT, weight training, etc. I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on supplements, shakes, bars, etc. I’ve hired coaches, nutritionists, and personal trainers and joined the gym.
What does this have to do with marketing?
I see business owners doing this same thing, trying to get a steady flow of leads and clients. They overcomplicate things and sign up for all the email lists, buy a gazillion courses, subscribe to all the popular marketing tools, listen to podcasts, watch videos, hire coaches, try getting visible on all the channels, etc., and they never make significant progress in their lead generation.
I didn’t make progress on my weight loss either⏤until I cut out all the fluff and focused on the fundamentals. Since then, I’ve lost over 20 pounds in just over a month focusing on three simple things: eating healthy unprocessed food, getting enough sleep, and drinking lots of water.
Marketing can be boiled down into three simple fundamentals as well, create, promote, and engage.
Here are the three things you can do every day to generate leads, discovery calls, and clients consistently.
#1: Create Consistent Content
How do people find you online? Content! Creating content is one of the easiest and most effective ways to get in front of your ideal clients, whether they are finding you through a search on Google or Pinterest and discovering one of your blog posts, seeing something you posted on Instagram, finding your content on YouTube, or listening to your podcast. Creating content that serves your audience establishes you as an authority in your niche and earns the trust of your ideal client.
Look to the marketing leaders you follow online for proof this works, like Amy Porterfield, James Wedmore, Marie Forleo, etc. They publish a minimum of one piece of long-form content per week, whether it’s a video, podcast, or blog post. They wouldn’t be doing this for years and years if it wasn’t an effective way to keep their pipeline full.
So how do you implement this in a way that’s sustainable for your already busy schedule? Make it part of your daily, weekly, and monthly routines.
Daily Content Routine
Building social media activity into your daily marketing activities can go a long way. Get active on social media for a few minutes every day to share content and engage with your audience. Answer comments, ask questions, and be social. Share your long-form content (see “Weekly Content Routine” below). Promote your lead magnets, workshops, and offers. The goal is to build your audience and drive traffic to your site.
Weekly Content Routine
Create at least one piece of long-form content per week (blog, video, or podcast.) Repurpose it into social media updates to drive traffic back to your site. As you create more and more quality long-form content, you’ll have more to share on social media. Remember to email your list each week with your new content to help nurture the leads you’ve added to your list.
Monthly Content Routine
Look at your content’s performance over the past month. How much traffic did each piece generate? How much engagement in social media did you get? How many new subscribers did you add to your list? Use your metrics to help you decide which types of content resonate best with your audience so you can increase your content marketing effectiveness month over month.
#2: Promote Your Offers Consistently
There are only a few ways to increase your revenue:
- Acquire more customers (getting more people to say yes to your offers)
- Increase your average order value (getting your clients to place bigger orders)
- Increase the frequency of purchases (getting your clients to buy from you more frequently)
All three of these things can be accomplished by simply making more offers to more people. Want to double your sales? Make double the offers.
Now if thinking about promoting yourself makes you start to feel cringy inside, let’s have a heart-to-heart…
I understand that promoting yourself can feel uncomfortable, especially for service-based business owners who love helping others. But, promoting your offers is actually an act of service.
Your offers are a solution to a problem that your clients have, and by promoting them, you’re making it easier for them to find the help they need. You’re offering them a way to transform their lives and achieve their goals, and that’s something to be proud of.
By promoting yourself, you’re not only helping yourself and your business grow, but you’re also helping others improve their lives. So don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and share your message with the world. You have something valuable to offer, and the more people who know about it the more lives you can impact.
I focus on two types of promotions:
- Offers that generate discovery calls and sales
- And offers that grow my email list
Daily Promotion Routine
Spend a few minutes of your daily marketing activities on promoting your offers on social media and other marketing channels. Work in the invitation naturally in the conversation. For example, if you’re teaching on a live stream, mention something like, “If you want help with this, book a free discovery call.” Share a link to your lead magnet, promote your free discovery call, or highlight your paid services. And remember to include calls-to-action in your long-form content.
Weekly Promotion Routine
Plan out your offers for the week ahead, including any discounts or promotions you’ll be running. This will help you stay organized and avoid the stress of coming up with ideas on the fly.
Monthly Promotion Routine
Look at your metrics. How many discovery calls did you book? How many new subscribers joined your list? Which landing pages converted the best? Use this information to help you dial in your messaging and optimize your funnel.

#3. Engage and Nurture Your Audience Consistently
This is one area where I see business owners sabotaging themselves. I talk to people on discovery calls and hear they’ve not emailed their list in months. Or they post and run on social media, ignoring the people who take the time to comment.
I get that as your audience grows, responding to every comment can become challenging. If that’s the case, find other ways to keep your audience engaged. Do live streams to connect with your audience. Invite them to free coaching calls, host webinars or masterclasses, create polls and surveys, and for goodness’ sake, email your list at least once a week.
You’ve worked so hard to create content and promote yourself to get those subscribers and Facebook group members. Don’t stop there. Nurture your list. Build a loyal following. And attract more of your dream clients!
Remember what your mom said, “be yourself.” Focus on building relationships. Behind every email is a human being who is looking to solve a problem.
Daily Engagement Routine
Each day respond to comments and messages on social media and other marketing channels. This could include thanking people for their support, answering questions, or asking for feedback.
Weekly Engagement Routine
Send out an email to your list at least once a week. This could be an invitation to check out your latest piece of long-form content (blog, podcast, video). Plan out any social engagement you’d like to do this week. Will you be doing a live stream? Maybe creating a poll to survey your audience? Planning ahead will help you stay organized and avoid the pressure of having to come up with something to post each morning.
Monthly Engagement Routine
Analyze your engagement metrics over the past month. On social media, which posts got the most engagement, how many new followers did you get, and which channel(s) performed best for you?
Look at your email statistics, too. How many new subscribers did you get this month? Which lead magnets or promotion strategies worked best? Which emails got the best open rates and click-through rates?
Consistently implementing these three key activities helped me to eliminate the stress of marketing and make a positive impact on my business. I hope that by sharing them, they’ll help you grow your email list, get more discovery calls, and close more clients! Let me know how it goes! 🙂
